I have a regulator for big BOC cylinders, but can this be converted to fit Co2 pub gas which is female thread not male without buying a new regulator.

£5.82 postage! they're avin a laugh!... less than 2 quid in a jiffy bag.
Another box-mover without a clue what they are selling aswell, described as "adaptor for use with disposable gas bottles".
That's the thing you need Horsewelder... should go straight onto a CO2 cylinder & your argon regulator into the adaptor.
