Regulator thread size

Just got myself a clarke 90 welder but I need to connect the hobby type 4mm pipe to my full size regulator.Clarke do such a pipe but is available in two sizes 1/4 bsp or 3/8 bsp.
How do I tell what my regulator is?
Where should I be measuring?
