Regulator reading zero but still gas left?

Got to what i thought was the end of my first 9l gas bottle and as the reg was reading close to zero I expected it to run out pretty soon. However the last two times on cracking the bottle the reg still shows zero, but I have welded a full sill on and a few other bits with the usual 10lpm flow despite the zero reading?

Is this the norm and the reg perhaps isn't sensitive enough on the lower pressure, or is something amiss?
Its a Wescol single stage only a year or so old.

Its quite common, welding gauges are not precision instruments.
One of mine will give several hours of welding while showing empty.

i had an acetylene regulator that showed empty and seemed to last ages before it went off just make sure your not welding anything important up on a weekend and u havent a spare as its sods law it will peter out half way through

mine still gives a fair bit of gas after it reaches 0, as said, if you got a big job on and reg says zero get a new one before starting. Better safe than sorry

At least it doesn't show gas when the bottle's empty!.

with one of my regs the bottel runs out bang on 50 bar indicated. the other reg 0 bar is good for a few hours. i usally go off the noise it makes when turn the bottel on if in dought
