Regulator Flow Rate Dial Flickering

I installed a new regulator on a new bottle of argoshield last night, and while welding the flow rate dial would filcker and make a ratteling noise. The higher the flow rate the quicker and noiser it would be. The pressure dial remained stable.

Does anyone know what might cause this?

What make is the Regulator?

Its branded with Butters AMT, not sure if its made by someone else tho.

Probably Chinese then. You can occasionally get that with a quality brand, but the cheap imported copies do seem to be prone to it (main valve assembly sticking and/or restricted outlet - poor machining).

You'd have to strip it down...definately not recommended with gas control equipment

I have a Wescol one that does it on full cylinders but it stops when the pressure gets lower.

Me too, doesn't seem to affect the performance too much
