Reducing the size of pictures.

I know I have asked this before.

The forum helped.

I asked how to reduce the size of pictures on another computer, some one came up with a free down load what allowed a simple "Right Click" and there was a tab to resize the images.

Dues to a few things I have lost that software, can any one help again please.

If it's just reducing the size from say 3000 x 1000 pixels down to 1000 x 330, I use MS Paint. Select the Home tab and click on Resize. You then have the option of reducing size by percentage or by pixels.

Fine if you just want to do one. If you've a batch, say for a project you want to post, then it'll be a right PITA. Faststone let's you do batch conversion and also will remember the settings that you choose.

I use Irfanview, works really well and you can do batches and give the pictures in the batch related names with sequential numbers

Photoshop for me, it means I can 'rescue' poorly exposed pics by adjusting the levels.

I used Faststone for years, when i had a standalone digital camera, but now I take all my pics on my phone, so use the stock editing software it comes with.

One of the most useful features of Windows XP was a Microsoft supplied addon called Image Resizer, which works in in the fashion you describe. For reasons beyond comprehension MS decided to drop this much used feature when they introduced Vista, but have recently reintroduced it for Windows 10 as part of a package called PowerToys which is described here on TechRepublic https://www.techrepublic.com/article/windows-10-powertoys-a-cheat-sheet/ Halfway down their tiresome blurb you can find a link to GitHub which is where MS have realeased it. Windows 10 PowerToys Version 0.25.0

I have downloaded this and it looks and works just like the old one.
