Hi,
I’m trying to convert my Tig welders and torches to Rectus 21 fittings so I can make them more interchangeable, but having bought a couple of Rectus fittings I have an issue.
My torches have 3/8” BSP brass swivel nuts and tails. The Rectus fittings I bought off eBay have less threads onthan than the brass fittings on the torch. This means the swivel nut bottoms out on the shoulder of the Rectus before it seals, so is loose inside the Rectus.
I don’t really want to remove all the 3/8” fittings from torches and welders. I’m also reluctant to spend any more money. I have a mini lathe, so guess I could turn down all the swivel nuts a couple of mm until the seal before bottoming out?
Has anyone else had this problem, and have a better solution? Thanks!
