Looking for a Record 3 1\2 plane body, mate dropped his today doing a job for me (his favorite one)
Body broke in half +

Up Catherine Hill there is a second hand shop what has a good collection of second hand tools.
They have a few good planes in there, the good heavy records planes.

Oh yes a host of other stuff you didn't know you wanted until you saw them.

I've got a Record plane that never gets used, all I can see on it is "Record" and "Made in England", how do you tell what number it is?

Should be a No like 4, 5, in front of the front Knob this one has\had 3 1\2

It was covered in loads of grime, it's a No 4 so no use, but it's been repaired, can't you get this one repaired?

Imho if a plane has a repair it's scrap iron. They're never the same after and the break is always the point at which it'll go again. If you're going to get a new second hand plane, I would highly recommend getting a Marples. They were late to the plane game and as such made use of all the other designs to make some really great planes. The irons are thicker on Marples ones, too. They're usually bright red.
