Recommended nozzle size for celly?

Hello
Getting ready toget some paint on bare metal car. My plan is to:

couple coats of bonda zinc primer
2/3 coats HB primer
2/3 coats top-coat
2 coats laquer (I know not entirely needed but I have it and plan to use it.

I have 2 new guns (not expensive brand) of reasonable quality - one is 1.4mm nozzle and other is 1.7mm nozzle

Paint data sheets (HMG) suggest 1.4-1.6 for HB celly and 1.6-1.8mm for topcoat & laquer.
So I planned on using 1.4 nozzle for HB and 1.7 for top coat.

Does this seem ok to members?
PS - hardly painted before

I am the same as you mate not done much painting before but I am useing a 1.4 for both high build primer and top coat and it has come out ok

Mine sprayed just fine out of the box, Silverline gun about £12 and I think it's got a 1.5mm nozzle. I did however do my primer with rattle can.

Some photos of my paint in "paint or project" in the project section, never sprayed with a gun ever before.

You will be able to spray everything with the 1.4 - 1.6 tip, but the extra room that the 1.7 tip affords will allow a slightly better film build with the HB primer, so it's worth taking the time to change it.
Also since you have two guns it is good practice to use one for primer and one for finish coats. You can use the same gun for both, but you have to be 100% sure the gun is scrupulously clean after spraying primer.

Both guns have not yet been used so could simply swap my original (1st post above) idea around and effectively do as jaykay suggests, 1.7 for primer & 1.4 for colour.
