Isn't that always the same? I live near Lichfield. I'm interested in history. Can't remember the last time I went to the cathedral.

Look up if you walk around the shopping area. Beautiful history and architecture. The Shambles, Wit-ma-what-ma-gate etc are a most. So is a walk around the walls. The Minster, especially when lit at night.

Just outside York is Nayburn Lock. etc

Thanks for all the ideas.
We're arriving Thursday late afternoon, and leaving Sunday late morning, so Friday and Saturday are full days I need to plan for. Think we're sorted now.
