Recommend me an exterior timber paint?

I'm replacing the facias on my mum's house, using 6x1 tanalised timber.
Ideally, I'm wanting to paint them before fitting - and I'm wanting something that will last 10yrs?
In a very dark/black colour.
I'm budgeting £40 for a gallon - I'll have other projects for the rest (porch, shed, greenhouse are all being replaced)

Would black bitumen paint work? Or am I going to need some sort of flexible breathable ££££ ?

wont you want to use planed timber for facias, don't think ive ever seen tanalised planed timber also how well will other products fare over the tanalised treatment

ive used that or very similar on a bench and it lasted way better then anything else I tried

Have you considered the UPVC fascia cladding, it's very lightweight, it's not the full weight fascia stuff.

Goes over the timber, comes in brown as well, last time I bought it I think it was around £8 for 5 metre length.

Job done and never to paint again.

Johnstones paint is very good, not cheap but very good. I remember a Which magazine article a few years ago where they painted window frames and left them out for years.Johnstones and Leyland came out top.

I did some sofit,facia and barge boards with Johnstones black recently, I thinned it down and sprayed it with a small HVLP gun and the finish was very good.

It's sticking to tantalised well we're the issue lays
Other than that I should say dulux weathetshield satin black
Don't know what it might be like on tantalised

I've been reading round, and apparently tanalised timber has to be weathered 6 months before painting.

So I'm going to fit them, and paint next year.

Another vote for sadolin. expensive stuff but did the shed with it about 15 years ago and it still looks good. it wasn't tanalised wood though

in comparison the house that was very well painted with dulux about 6 or 7 years ago is looking decidedly in need of an update

Ive been advised to use BARNJACKET for the shed Im building...............cant remember who recommended it though.....could have been somoene on here

I just did a search for it - looks good!
My search also threw up something called "bedec barn paint" which looks perfect!
£62 a gallon, so a bit pricey, but very good reviews - and will go over other coatings- including creosoteand bitumen (so presumably tantalising)

That BARNJACKET is about 40 quid for 5 litres

Ive seen that BEDEC as well but I havent ever used either........just what Ive been told...........and I cannot remember who told me
