Recommend me a reg

The expiry date on my current tig reg is coming up 2015. Although my machine is currently across country I will be getting another at some point.
I've always used murex saffire regs with my welders as they IMO are the best and with regs I will only buy the best . The tig reg I had is proving very difficult to come by again and I want something that is equal to the quality of the saffire. I refuse to put that amount of pressure through a £15 reg. your recommendations would be great. Thanks.

I thought esab took over the murex sapphire stuff, if that helps.

They have but the sad thing is the esab regs are no where near as good. Personally I would not buy one.

Yep ESAB bought out Murex, so only Nos Saffire around now. I'm the same , only used Saffire 2 stage regs on my O&A, so when I decided to get another TIG set (after a 25+ years layoff) I had a look at the ESAB reg, but went for one of the Elga Optimator Regs in the end.

Esab have also got victor technology now so it will be interesting to see the new gas equip range that comes out from that. To be honest I think it will be brilliant stuff.
