Recommend a Non Crumbling Case Lining Foam Please

I have two Analoy metal alloy analysers that are old as the hills but work and are useful to me. However their cases were originally lined with 10 mm thick black foam that has crumbled to dust.

Can anyone recommend a source for similar foam the will not degrade over time. In an ideal world I'm looking for about a square metre of 10 mm thick self adhesive foam in black.

Many foam sheet suppliers out there but they tend to be cagey about the longevity of their product !

Neoprene foam tends to last a lot longer than e.g. polyurethane.

Can be a sod to cut, though. Needs a very sharp knife.

I think there's something called closed cell foam? It's used in industry for lining cases for kit. A lot of instruments etc in the aviation world get shipped in it

Yes I think neoprene closed cell is what I need. It’s an all over lining to give a cushioned surface rather than the cut and pick type that you sink individual tools into which I’ve used for instruments housed in a Pelicase.
