recommend a drill for use with poly abrasive discs?

I am looking for a (cheap) drill to use with the poly abrasive discs as the battery operated drill is too slow, and electric drill is too heavy.

I also have use the discs with a angle grinder but sometimes it's handy to use the drill ones.

Obviously the drill will be used to for general work as well.

Slightly OT but I got a Skilsaw drill with a job lot of tools but I have never seen anything like it.

but without the trigger handle. It's got no speed settings and I can't find a chuck key that fits. What use is it?

The poly ones I don't know. If they're rated to 25,000 rpm (and 6mm or 1/4" shank) then a die grinder is the obvious choice. Depending on the model, it'll either be slightly lighter or slightly heavier than the battery drill.

A proper engineer's supplier should get you a chuck key, it's likely to be imperial. I'd have it PAT tested before you use it as it isn't double insulated and the insulation on the motor windings could very well have cracked, also it may have rubber insulation on the wires inside which may have perished.

That drill is what we used to call a 'gutbuster' in engineering years ago, it is a very torquey if low speed, hand drill. There should be a handle on either side so you can hold it properly, if not it is a bit more modern and a bit lighter duty.

The Buck and Hickman catalogue has a whole list of different chuck keys. God knows how you know which one to get though! We've something like that at home. I remember my father drilling holes in a trailer chassis to put new planking down. The drill bit caught and span him round like a top! Like cobminor says, VERY torquey.
