Rechargeable drill.

I have been using a portable cheapo drill for a few years and recently the batteries have been running down very quickly and they take an hour to recharge so I finally gave in and looked for a replacement. I have bought this Makita from Axminster and after using it today I am highly delighted with it's performance. It was a good price for the kit with free postage, two thumbs up.

I bought one of those from screwfix over three years ago, £89 with three batteries, still works a treat and gets plenty of daily abuse drilling and tapping stainless, I'd definitely buy another.

I bought the Lithium ion battery version a couple of years ago. Only one battery but I'm not a heavy user and it only takes 20 mins for a full charge and lasts ages.

Drill came with a small light that activates when you press the trigger. I thought it was a bit of a gimmick at first but it has come in useful a number of times. Doesn't seem to be on the latest model I saw in screwfix yesterday.

there nice drills the reason there quite cheaply priced is the batteries are only 1.3a h not a problem with 3 to use .the 2.5ah last a lot longer for constant use using them with 20mm auger bits ect but are more expensive . ive rarely seen a drill pack in unless its a real cheapo the batteries rap in 1st and arent worth renewing for the price

buy good quality branded hss taps and use the original rocol cutting compound

Me being the all time cheap skate, if I bought one the batteries would end up failing as I only use one now and again.

So my barging hunting skills found me a Draper 14.4v local on the big bad bay for about £5 with two batteries. Works a treat, ideal for all my fence work.

My father got himself the self same kit last year , cant remember the price ! I have used it for a few jobs , works a treat !

Last year I bought myself the second to top of the line Makita with a part of my christmas bonus. At the price you would think it would be the whole bonus!! The one with 2 LiIon 18V batteries, 3 speed box and hardened steel gearbox. It has no hammer function, but hammer drills should have pneumatics in any case. It is a super tool with only one problem. In the lowest gear, you can twist your wrist off! The battery lasts ages.

It is an awesome machine! I'm looking forward to growing old with it...

Shame about the colour, makes you look like the builder one outa the Village People. Now where's my hard hat???

i have the identical one as well as a makita and a dewalt one . there brill 4 the price

Anybody use those orange/black AEG drills, grinders etc. that have recently appeared? They 'feel' like quality kit, just don't know anyone who's tried them.
