The problem with re celling is that you need to connect to the electrodes on the cells but you cant much heat on as you join whoch makes soldering tricky. This is why thay are usually spot welded alot of heat for a very short time so the heat does not conduct into the cell whereas soldering nneeds to put a lower heat for longer but this is actually putting more energy in.if the drills are ok then it would be worth re celling them
