rear winch bumper build...

right i have a nice quite modded 4x4, allready have a front winch and mount. and decided i would be benefit from a rear winch to get my self out of trouble.

so i did some sketching and mesauring

then cut some nice 8mm plate and drilled it

then leaned it all together

and lent my spare parts from my winch in

then i cut down the rear bumper (that has the lights in it, and welded some plates on, so it cam all be bolted together..

then welded it all together... and mounted it to the car (called the duck)

Neat installation, if that's an existing tow point visible under the spare wheel, I would tie the tray to it as well.

...and get yourself a new winch cable

well that winch is all the spare parts, not a complete winch... i am looking at buying a new one soon for it

and i did think about linking it to the tow bar.. but i want that to be able to move and bend(if i hit it hard)
how i have done it, it will have about 10tons of supports... so the winch will fail befor that should..

have you bolted it to the original bumper mounts? is it going to be strong enough?

Make sure you tell your insurer. When I wanted to add a winch to my Land Rover they wanted an additional premium.
