Reaplcement for an Oxford 220amp Oil Cooled Welder

Hi,

After days of reading this site I still cant decide on a replacement for an Oxford 220amp Oil Cooled Welder.
I am looking for another arc welder as I need to use it outside, old metal etc, typical farm work sometimes upto 1/2".
I may be persuaded to get a MIG and use corded flux if required but its not the first choice.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a new welder and approximate costs.
I see refurbished Oxfords on eBay but hard to tell if they will work as good as they look.

Only thing to replace an Oxford with is another Oxford but as SP sez, wots wrong with the one you have? lots of expertise on here-someone will probably know how to fix it.
If my arm was forced up my back I would get a GYS-they have a MIG with MMA capability and thats what I would go for.

generaly the only thing that goes wrong on an oilcooled is a burnt out winding lift the transformer out and have a look u will need a lifting block though cos there heavy

Thanks for the replys.
Replacement wasnt the best word, I need another welder for a new workshop, oxford staying at the old one.
Ill look at the GYS ones and see wht they have.
Portability isnt an issue when you have a linkbox

I saw the Tech Arc one but only 40% duty at 200 amps
Any reviews on the Inverter Fusion, they see to have a good duty cycle.

You won't get cheper quality than a second hand Oxford, on of the boys on here is selling a 180A set if that's any help.

The Tec Arc is close but I think its just a little underpowered

A decent 200 amp inverter with the right rod with good weld prep and procedure IMO and you need to consider how well such sets actually work on a less than fantastic power supply your normally faced with out on farms. After that its a big generator welder, I hire such when required coz I cannot justify the large outlay presently

Well you aint gonna be welding any 1/2" rings on slurry tankers with the 170 mig

This is worse than deciding the kids names.
Went to a few welding shops today, absolutely awfull.
I dont know anything about these new fancy welders so didnt trust what anyone told me.
At one point I had somoene selling the "Best selling Mig in Europe"
Best MIG/Arc I can find online around my budget is the Jasic Pro Mig 200.
If its no good Ill have to buy two seperate machines.

: ) The mind is full of welder info but the decission is hard.

Does anyone have any experience of the Jasic Pro 200 Arc.
It only has a Duty Cycle of 35% at 200 amps, no mention of whst it is at 100%.

The inverter fusion 180 has a Duty Cycle of 100% at 160 amps so I am thinking this may be better.

Why cant I find a 200-220 amp Inverter with a decent duty cycle.

At this rate Ill be looking for another 220 Oxford
