Not exactly even casting, but just melting.
I took a load of offcuts from my work, melted them down with veg oil fuel, and poured to a bread tin. No flux, and it's not really even a casting alloy.
Cut the job in half on the rapidor, and a quick wizz on the belt sander (the marks in the middle are saw marks)
Quite impressed with the lack of inclusions and general finish. I think if I can get anywhere close to this when I start making proper patterns (which will obviously be much harder) I'll be pretty pleased.
Will put it on the mill tomorrow and see how it cuts. The original material is wrought, whilst this is obviously cast, so I'll see how it performs.
