Rayburn MF/216m oil conversion

anyone got a Rayburn MF or 216M that’s been fitted with a Don oil burner?
I’m working on one for a customer and struggling to get clarification on whether or not the burner should have the cast ring on top of the outer shell as they do in almost all of the 8” burners. Even my Don burners manuals from 23 years ago don’t mention it.
If anyone’s got one (specifically an MF or 216m) it would be great if you could have a look for me!
