Ratchet repair kits..

So, I inherited a pair of 1/2” drive ratchets, which look to be half decent quality. Sadly, they’ve been abused and skip every now and then.

I haven’t taken them apart yet, purely because I’ve spent my weekend so far under an L200 peeling the field off it to fix it.

First is a Britool E74, and the second being a King Dick RPS408. I’ve had a quick look on eBay whilst searching for a decent 6 point 1/2” socket set, but haven’t come up with anything.

Are there any other places I could try?

For britool try your local mac dealer usually a franchised tool van they now own britool they might still make repair kits if its it older ratchet
For king dick try contacting them direct i believe they sell direct and heard they have very good customer service

To be perfectly honest I doubt if you'll be able to locate any ratchet rebuild kits for them purely due to their age, also air ratchets don't produce enough torque to require the use of 6 point sockets, impact wrenches benefit from 6 point sockets.

My Bahco sockets are 6 point and good quality. Have you looked at them?

King Dick, aptly named,
contacted them to enquire price and availability of the two screws that hold the ratchet assembly together.
Yes sir, that will be £17... + vat + .....
Whoaa, hang on, I'm only looking for the two tiny screws(3mmx20mm'ish).
outcome is that they are part of a kit to refurb, and not available seperately.
If youve got one, loctite the screws, or you will loose them

Found the King Dick website, seems a bit pricey to repair, so may end up in the bin to be honest.

Weld it up and use it as a slogging t bar rather than the bin.
Sometimes it''s handy to have some thing you don't mind giving a bit of love with a hammer or scaffold bar over the end of.
