Before you all come out with (at the side of a railway) I don't suppose anyone would know where I might obtain a piece of railway track ?

Go to farms close to closed railway lines, youll find it used for gate posts, and all sorts.

often there is a compound somewhere near a mainline , if you can catch anyone at it there may be a cutting , id got a 300mm section off the guys when we were working on a unit adjacent.

Disused railway lines frequently have sections of rail left in the undergrowth.

Frequently these have been lying there for 50 plus years, so may take a bit of looking for.

Yeah I got a couple bits from the Royal Deeside group, they cut them up for me and just gave a donation.

What do you mean by a 'piece'?

Theres some at work I might be able to get hold of but it means picking it up from Essex.
