Railing + gates

Hi i was wondering if anyone could post up there jigs they use for making Railings and Gates.

I have a few ideas but not sure what ever one uses and what is best to use. I dont have a big flat steel bench so would probably be on some sort of trestles.
Hopefully be making some railsing for my garden.

I was thinking somthing along the lines of this, with the right hand side beeing able move in so if im doing shorter rails i can just make the jig shorter.

Hi,

I made some railings a few months back and it was hard work in my small workshop as I had to keep turning the pieces over or around.

If I was doing it again I'd make some sort of temporary bench out on the drive where I could easily move around it. The workpiece should only need to be 'flipped' over once then. Of course, a bigger workshop with a central bench would work best!

I'd go for something like 1" box around 6 feet long, with bolts welded on in pairs at 100mm spacing to take the rods. Make up the rail panel rectange with holes drilled in the top rail at 100mm then slot in the rods. Plop the jig on the bottom of the rods and the spacing is set without having to use a set square, etc.

I made up a bit of a rotating jig a while ago to make some "estate" railings.

The middle was on a pivot so it could be turned over to make the welding easier.
