Radiator thermostats

Are the tops interchangeable between manufacturers? Or have I got to drain the system and swap completely.

Unscrew it with that knurled bit and take it to Wickes to match it up with what they have. There are a few different makes and sizes as far as I know.

I have a similar issue. I ha e several rads where it seems the tops are wromg and the ones the previous owner has used mean the rad is always off. How can you figure the rignt tops out to use??

I think most have a 30mm thread but I'd just buy a Drayton one and try it.

Yours will accept most heads, as long as the pin is long enough

the pin sticks out about 10mm without the head on it

i got 3 rad valves to change but the pins are corroded so its not just the heads having a run at the mo on plumbing defects

I had that when I moved in here....

grabbed the pins with a pair of mole grips to work it then up and down - fixed them, still working now, 8 years later

Yes robin hood 2b.. was sliding pillar front suspension, but built my own wishbones
started off with 2l pinto, but now got a 2l duratec on jenveys and omex
Fast enough for me

yep ok if just stiff but these are solid and black krap coming out of them 40 years old so had a good innings

It runs a Haynes book bottom wishbone but shorter .. sierra rack with granada rod ends... took a lot of thinking about
