We had a boys day out to this today it was brilliant fun with some stunning cars

the grey Volvo p1800 paint was flawless and I mean flawless. It was as perfect under neath as it was on top I could only find one imperfection other than miss matched chrome as the parts are no longer available

can anyone shed any light on the rear brake on the trans

I imagine they wanted to remove unsprung weight? Must have been really hard to modulate for the driver (assuming it’s on the crank not the gearbox output).

The 2.1/2 litre BRMs both front and rear engined used the same gearbox with the single rear disk brake on the gearbox output shaft until the 1960 International Meeting at Snetterton, when they changed to separate rear wheel brakes and the rear suspension from Macpherson strut to double wishbone. This was in preparation for the new 1.5 litre formula in
the the 1961 season.
