R tech mig 180

The above mig is advertised as coming with a gas reg, can anyone tell me if it is a co2 reg, an ar/co2 or a multi reg that will work with either gas?

It will be a reg suitable for Ar/Co2.

A few weeks ago I was told by the SWP technical dept that these days it is one and the same regulator for Ar, Co2 or Ar/Co2 mix.

My R-Tech 250-1 mig came with a reg stating Ar/Co2 and I use an 85/15 mix.

That's what I'm concerned with, when I buy a mig it's likely to be run on co2 so need a reg that will fit a co2 bottle

If you look at the picture on their website, it's a 300bar argon regulator.

Will have to speak to them if I decide it's the unit I want. It's winning at the moment though

as far as I know they always come with the Co2 / argon fitting, you will have to buy the adaptor or just change the fitting

you can clearly see its Co2 / argon in the picture as it has a protective cap over the threads, if it was co2 it would have a plug inside the connection

Didn't know you could get adapters? So the reg should be ok for co2 or mixed gas as long as I can get it on the bottle?

it will be fine for both gasses you just need to swap the fitting, I have both, they just unscrew

Sorted then, will just get a co2 fitting for the reg and keep the mixed gas fitting just incase
