R-Tech 251 from 13amp outlet?

Still trying to decide on a welder and wonder if anyone has experience running the R-Tech 250 amp ac/dc machine (on low currents) from a 13 amp socket?

I ask as although I don't currently want to weld big stuff, I may in the future and it'll save me an upgrade later on.

you'll be fine untill you start getting close to 160 amps as untill then it'll be drawing less than 13 amps after that the outlet will be at max capacity. tho we all know that if the wireing beind the socket if on a ring main ( as it should be ) is good for quite a lot more than 13 amps and the decent quality MK plugs will happily handel more than 13 amps.

often get problem is garden sheds and garages tho as they all to often are wired up as a spur and it is generaly quite long and with undersized cabel so even tho there is a 13a socket you can barely get 13 amps without voltage drop

extension lads are a big NO, inverters really don't like there supply voltage dropping tho as it forces them to draw more current to make up the power hence they have to work harder. a mate runs a r tec 201 and that really hates being on extension lead but will happily run on a 13a plug provided you keep below 160 amps else the fuse blows.
