Quirk's with the R-Tech Anologue 201 AC/DC TIG

Found a new quirk with the 201 today, some of you may have read about the HF problems I initially had.
This was fixed by turn the 'ARC FORCE' to zero.
Had the same problem again today, doing a little DC Tig. Checked the ARC Force and it was set to zero.
Crap I thought, then realised that last time I used it was on AC.
Yes you guessed it the AC balance and frequency where still set for AC and after returning all the dials to zero. Everything was back to normal.

Cheers Brad, i'll give 'em a call tomorrow, glad I asked before the warranty period is over.
I really thought i'd just found a quirk with it been analogue, you had to manually switch everything over.

Well rang R Tech and they promptly picked it up, took it away and I had it back a week later. Everything now works fine
I'd written a short letter as asked describing the problems, 'wouldn't initiate arc in TIG only had the HF spark' if the Arc Force was left turned up. Then developed a few more quirks as this post.
Talking to Daz on the phone and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Gave it a thorough going over and it wouldn't act up as i'd described in the letter or in anyway what so ever. Daz mentioned possibly a loose connection during delivery, but did say they hadn't found any. So must have wobbled back on the return trip .
Unfortunately I knackered my shoulder and couldn't actually test it until today. Got in the garage and sure enough, all's fixed can TIG with the Arc Force or any of the other controls left on anything.
In fact unless I'm mistaken it welds a LOT better than before, seems to need less amps now for the same thickness.
All in all a very smooth process, excellent service and I'm very please the r tech warranty reputation stood up.
Daz did asked me to call him back and report my findings, so will do that tomorrow.

This is my bug bear with r tech. I’ve sent machines back three times now and nothing has been wrong, but work fautlessly when they return.

Something is not quite kosher up there and tbh wouldn’t buy from them again.

Isn't it just standard practice for most companies now a days, if theres nothing wrong nobody can say anything bad about a product lol
Don't know about anyone else but, I'd rather now there was a problem and how they fixed it.
Even better if they told me what they did to fix it.

I feel exactly the same way.

Stuff breaks, I know that. No need to lie, we all know rtech is Chinese stuff, you pays your money you makes your choice.

I had an AC/DC 201 and that was faultless.

However the 100A plasma is a piece of junk and unfortunately my dad I stuck with a duff machine.
