I'm about to put a fresh coat of paint onto a quarter panel, it's in perfect condition, it's just the wrong shade thanks to a screw up when I had the paint made up, one of these things that you don't notice until it's in daylight, looked perfect under fluorescent light, anyway, what I need to do is scuff it up and go over it again with the new stuff which hopefully should be the right shade, the paint I'm going over is about 10 months old, I was going to use a grey scotchbrite pad with some farecla g-matt to key up the paint before I shoot the new shade on, I just want to confirm that this is the right grade of pad to be using, I know I could sand it with some 600 grit, but there's no imperfections to remove, I feel sorry about having to do this at all, as the paint is perfect, just the wrong shade.
