quick plumbing connector question

I have a 15mm coil, with 1/2 compression fittings on the ends of it.

Im tight for space, so i need to come off at 90.

Do i want one of these -

or one of these -

I mean i know the first one will work, with a standard olive, but would the tap connector be a more elegant solution?

Would the tap connector NOT work for some reason or other, as thats my preference otherwise?

Tap connector will connect fine to a compression with the nut and olive removed but its not meant to be connected like that

Its not clear on the photo, but there is loads of 1/2 inch thread (perspective).

Its a finned solar coil out of a scrap thermal store. Im wanting to plumb it in with PEX pipe for heating the contents of the reactor.

This is where the coil exits.

I did a dry (wet) run with water, and made the mistake of adding a couple of drops of fairy....

(theres a vent port next to the coil in the center, but its hidden by foam)

If its going to be on continuously don't use plastic, its not designed for it. Not allowed to use it for a secondary hot water return

I'm no plumber but personally I don't like the idea of any plastic push fit connections on any application where there is pressure or heat involved.

This isnt some Mars mission - its (attended) bucket chemistry in a bunded environment (position in photo isnt final).

Atmospheric pressure. Heat is well within spec of PEX.

Whilst i appreciate the comments so far, could i ask that the H&S talk stops. There are so many here that have the default position of classing anything that they do not understand to be too dangerous to be performed! : )

My comment referred to a continuous heating of the plastic, if its switched on and off it's fine but 24 hours of heat will destroy plastic

I wasn't thinking of any H&S aspect to be honest, I just hate plastic being used instead of tried and tested copper.

I've just signed of £30k of underfloor heating in a property. 25 year guarantee including reinstatement costs if it needs a repair and its all plastic

The tap connector is designed to fit a threaded end with a flat face. If you're going to attempt to use it I'd replace the rubber washer with a fibre one. It won't cut through and once nipped up will swell and form a watertight seal.

One of the new modern build estates that sprung up down the road from me about 3 years ago, they used all that plastic push fit rubbish for the bathrooms, whether or not it's down to bad workman ship or the material but so many residents are experiencing leaks/problems now. The local plumbers are now ripping it all out and replacing it with copper now.

I thought, although im not sure, that those JG ones have a sort of buldge, like a fake olive, on the stem of the tap connector? I mean theyre not like the standard ones?

Ill probably just order the stem one and use an olive then, just in case (i cant find any photos on google to say either way, re: buldge)
