Wasn't sure where to put this, so if this is the wrong section feel free to move it.
I had a mate pop by at the weekend with a Honda K20 rocker cover that had a small chip missing from the outside edge of the U channel where a rubber gasket fits into.
It was a simple job to clean it up with acetone and a stainless brush (really well) and then run a few beads, one on top of another, to build it back up bigger than original. I made sure I melted each bead in as hot as possible and used plenty of filler so it would hopefully clean up nicely without any voids. After a quick linish down with a lubricated flap wheel on the outside, and a dremmel with small cutting / grinding disk on the inside it looked good as new
My friend went away happy, and even said the repair was as good as what he usually pays a company to do for him
Only got a few pictures, and forgot to take one of the cover and missing chip before welding, but I'm sure you get the idea.
