I am making plasma cutting torches in China. Here I have one questions on the cable and hope any of you can help me.
On all the coaxial cable I saw in the market, the wires to carry cutting current are several seperate wires with jacket. I don't know why they do not just use a bunch of bare copper wires without jacket. Is so the jacket material can be saved and the cable will be more flexiable.
Please see the attche photo. They use 4 wires for power. Is there a reason for 4 wires with jackets but not one bare copper strand?
