Posted a query regarding buying a new Arc or Inverter the other week.
Received some helpful replies... thanks to all.
By chance, I've been offered an Oxford RT 110 Amp, single phase. (Don't know how old). I'm only starting off at this game so would appreciate any advice or good/bad comments regarding it. Only intending using it on 3mm ish angle and box at the present.
Questions...
What is the max thickness of material this yolk could tackle without prepping joint edges etc? (no manual supplied... surprise, surprise)
http://www.pickhill-engineers.co.uk/items.htm do a 110 amp and they say it needs 15A fuse. Can I run it from a 13 amp socket or would I need to wire up a 'Blue Plug' jobby with a dedicated circuit to be on the safer side?
The leads on it are knackered. Can they be bought at a reasonable price, and (tongue in cheek) would there be a possibility that someone on the forum might be able to supply same if I pm'd him for a quote?
Would a Parweld auto helmet be sufficient to use for it, or what would you suggest?
First job for the toy would be to make a trolley to pull it around, there's some weight in it!
Thanks to any who read this and reply.
