Any good? only have 15mm between top of compound slide and centre height...so this might just fit, I use 8mm high speed steel tooling...

Have a look at the Myford copy from RDG tools. I have them and they are very nice quality for the money. They do holders for parting off blades, boring bars also. i've had them for 7 years now with no complaints.

I've seen those too faz but they're a lot more expensive and I never part off anyway, I find it easier to chop parts off in my bandsaw then face off back in lathe...

just make sure u dont catch the chuck and wear gloves

Will be careful around chuck, but I never wear gloves near rotating machines..we are talking about doing it with lathe running (at a very low speed) aren't we?

Thanks 500e that c3 one would fit ok, but only has 2 bolts to clamp tool compared to the chronos one which has 3.

If your parting tool is well set up, it's way quicker and easier than using a hacksaw. mine is ultra quick because it's on a lever operated slide, but still, it's a matter of seconds!

The machine itself makes a difference too. If there's any slop in the slides, for example, it'll just dig in. Parting off can be a testing task on occasion.
