Purlin spacing for a metal roof

I've finally ordered the metal roof for my garage extension and I think I've got everything worked out apart from the purlin spacing, its a flat roof / lean-to style and 7m long by 4m wide and after looking at the not very helpful installation details I'm thinking of spacing the purlins at 1m. Does that sound about right?

The profile is below (0.7mm steel)

Near enough same size as mine, I also did them 1mtr spacing, was rock solid when two of us were walking around screwing the sheets down.

If you have a steeper pitch you can increase the purlin spacing but a ball park figure of 1000-1300mm is good. The further north you live the closer you should space your purlins to deal with any snow loading.
If you can get away with spacing your purlins on 1300mm centres you can fit a full size sheet of Kingspan/Cellotex in between.

agree youll have no bother at 1000mm centres, 0.7mm is a good sheet, seen plenty of roofs with 0.5 sheets spaced at 1200, most had a 15 degree pitch though.

is that profile of roof not suppose to have a wee pitch so the water runs off of the ridges will be full of water

The profile has little relationship to the purlin spacing unless the profile provides no rigidity as the ridges on the sheet will/should be running perpendicular to the purlins.

Personally I would put them at centre spacings that allow you screw full plasterboard or plywood sheets up so that they meet in the centre of the purlin.

Thanks for all the replies, I cant remember what the pitch is but it just above the minimum they recommend for the sheets, not ideal but I cant make it any steeper.

Its all arriving tomorrow and its already off to a bad start, I told the supplier I would be at work so they needed to use a smallish wagon with offload. Not an issue I was told, now they tell me its coming on a full size artic with no off load, I don't know if they'll get close to the house and I'm gonna have to take half a day off to help unload plan b is get it dumped in the town somewhere and figure out how to get it home, thank god the sheets are only 4.1m!!

Tell them to stick the artic and re-deliver in a smaller truck, if that's what they agreed to.

Its all here anyway, due to issues with earlier deliveries and a car crash / blocked road the wagon didn't arrive til 9pm last night!! A bit of creative thinking and some wood work on a 2.5m trailer and I got the sheets back home.

I feel sorry for the driver, she was out of hours so had to sleep in the car park in the town and then somebody decided to blow up the local bank/atm at 2am, cue another detour for her with the wagon this morning to get home..

The sheets are from http://www.steadmans.co.uk/ as they're fairly local so had the lowest delivery, other suppliers were a similar price but wanted £250 for delivery!!
