I have been to my local Wellington Welding and purchased some bits and bobs to turn my no gas MIG into a gas MIG so I can weld stainless.
As far as the gas goes they said I needed pure Argon and have sold me some Hobbyweld Argon, I was a bit dubious but they phoned someone else to check and they said yes, pure Argon, came home and checked the Hobbyweld site and it says on it's little chart, yes, MIG welding stainless, pure Argon.
However, everywhere I have looked on the web including this forum it says don't use pure Argon for stainless, have i just wasted a £50? Should I use it? Take it back? Will I notice the difference given this will be my first go MIG welding stainless?
And if it needs to go back can anyone give me a source for something suitable in West Cornwall.
Cheers.
