Friday I re machined a forged part, and made an interference plug to push in to bring back to the original I/D, Today after they bolted it up we have found that the casting has also got bent...
Heres a picture of set up prior to boring, as you may notice I have 6mm of shim steal under the two dogs, this gives nearly 1/2" total, transpires piece should be Flatt (found out by removing another casting)..
Is there a way of heating the casting to pull it back? even heat? or just one side... what sort of temps?..
Was going to use some parallels set against the good casting to check for true, if it will come back..
Thoughts?
