I've been with these for quite a few years, one of the few that don't seem to have heart failure at the mention of welding.

go to go compare mine was a lot cheaper for the same cover on comparison site . one of mine was with the same insurance company with a different broker and saved 80 quid the robbin gits
ohh riteThe problem with comparison sites is that welding is not one of the listed trades,
Well no luck so far. It seems that I'm a bit af a rarity, and I'm going to be a problem to insure.
Because I'm an IT Contractor, working through my own Ltd company, and doing a bit of part-time metal bashing, I don't fit into any standard 'category' and as such cannot be insured with a standard policy. It would probably be ok if I was working as a sole trader, but that's not what I want. The idea is to put all my metal bashing earnings through the Company to help me avoid any IR35 issues.
I have another number to try, so I'll let you know how it goes. My guess is that it's going to cost loads!
Form a second Ltd company? link it to the first? For further you need seek advice from your accountant not your Insurance
That wouldn't help with the IR35 situation. Hoping to get some better news when I spend some more time ringing around.
