pub gas around the glasgow area?

hi,just back from my local boc dealer and to be honest paying £86 rental £24 refill and £14 fee is right out of my price range.

anyone know where i can go buy a pub co2 bottle and get it filled around the greenock/glasgow area?

Ebay for bottles - frequently on there all over the country

Refills

find a fire extinguisher place or a brewing outlet or get friendly with a landlord and "exchange"

One caveat - be very carefull when asking questions to ebay sellers offering pub gas bottles - ask what the testing expiry date is on the bottle - it will be stamped into the metal and if it's over 5 years since last test many places won't fill it

had a look on ebay, only a few on just now and all pick up only but none in this area

got a full pub bottle of co2/nitro sitting here,picked it up off a mate for free but cant be used,was gonna try to a swap but looks as if most of the local pubs have changed to the bigger bottles now

hi all....... brill site.......... all them pubs in Scotland. someoe must know.............. be careful though. not all them contain just Co2........... some have all various gasses in them..... be careful out there.......the weld may be not as strong as you think.... all the best Frankie
