PU vs Rubber Seam Sealer

Whats everyones views of polyurethane seam sealer (comes in the tubes) and rubber based seam sealer (comes in the tins)?

What are the differences and which is better?

I always use poly these days.

you can get brushable (PUi think) from metalflake if you search 08537 you'll find it, its 3M so good quality and recommended to me

there another cheaper option from halfords its called u-pol grey stripe - not sure if its a PU though

i dont know why its better but would guess at it being a better adhesive

x2 used it for many years to cover my scabby welding
PU is more appropriate for dry seams, i.e door skins and overlapped puddled joints etc.

All the ones that are in the tin are rubber-based. PU comes in a tube and can also be applied and then brushed around.

But the question is, which is superior? PU or rubber?

PU plus its over paintable

You can use the pu from a tube and then brush it if you want.
I find the PU are better as they stick like the proverbial to a blanket aspecially the Sikaflex. Note that they degrade with uv so paint over it where exposedt to light.

Its adhesion qualities are outstanding.
