L Brador do some really heavy duty black cotton ones.

You may have to search around as was told they are being discontinued.

They are really generously cut and fantastic to wear especially at this time of year.

I've not seen any as thick.

Only problem they cost £60 but, like many expensive things once you've had some you know why they cost more.

My local agri supplies place has knocked 30% off so I grabbed another pair, got 3 now.

Just looked on L.Brador and they still list them.

My ex-BT overalls are beginning to shrink as I get older, especially around the middle

Yarmo V neck fishermans smock and cheapo jeans is a good cotton combination. The smock is really thick cotton sailcloth and has a couple of pockets at the front, very good quality.

Yarmo also do 100% cotton boiler suits but I've never tried them, but may give them a go.

They also do Proban but not sure if they are there own or bought in, they also have nomex if your minted.

Get mine offshore. Flamebuster overalls, flameproof too. They also do quilted ones out there. Seriously warm!

Try an online search for 'ex rental' ones - I know there's a place in Inverness advertises them at £5 a pair, but doubt they have a website.

IF you are ever up in perth there is a shop called Fergusons, who do all this type of stuff. tHe shop really is a throwback to the 50's. There was a hardware shop of the samew ilk, but this has sadly closed

Wenaas coveralls are fantastic quality. A mate gave me a pair and are considerably better than my dickies which are light duty in comparison.

The yanks are hopeless at shipping anything by the most cost effective means. I've just had a warranty item sent to me from the states, first one came via UPS, and they wanted 46quid duty/vat etc.

So I refused that consignment, wrote to the company and explained the best way would be via USPS Global Priority, and they sent them in a box you could have got 40 units in.

I had a pair of the wenass fire retardant overalls when working in Norway, good strong overalls with a few nice extras like internal chest pocket, knee pad pockets, cargo pants style leg pocket and a rule/ shifter pocket on the leg.

I have a pair of dickies f/r overalls that I use in the garage and for "home work"

For work im Currently using the redwing fire retardant overalls, these are also good.

I was given a pair of fistrads padded overalls a while back that we're nice and warm but made of that polyester type fabric......... Melted like a crisp bag.

To be honest, I've not found much of a difference between any of the reputable f/r overalls, apart from the dreaded washing machine shrink!
