Me (in Yellow) and Colin doing big-ass sized props off the DC6. 2 men to lift each blade, let alone the whole prop.
Sorry I can't do a link, but this website looks useful
That's the insomnia cured then!
It has been done, but requires a lot of work. The one that’s been done appears periodically for silly money as a spitfire engineBut you have access to a Meteor engine, but of tinkering, few coffees add a few bits.
Then you can convert to one.

I was thinking horse power of your VW donk, rather than the prop.I think mine is 60 inch dia and about 32 inch pitch, IIRC.

Unfortunately I think we both know it’s highly unlikely to be the caseYes, an it is a runner and potentially a flier (if enough money came forwards)
Did you now?! I was at Lossie from 78 - 82, any over lap?grew up with them going over head, mate worked on 8 squadron, as an air frame tech if I remember rightly, right up to they retired the old girl... preferred them to nimrods that replaced them..
Ah, I see. Should be about 65 hp with a Stromberg 1 3/4 carb and dual Leburg/Ford ignition. Nice Bunch-o'-'nanas exhaust helps, too.View attachment 298466
We can dream, though...Unfortunately I think we both know it’s highly unlikely to be the case
I think they've been used quite a bit but not something I've ever tried. These FRED aircraft have been around since the late 1950s, before even VWs were common.BMW boxer 1100 engine got another 30hp+ are they no good for that job?
i had a clear plastic tape on the leading edge of my microlite that stops damage from picking up stone chipsLooks very similar to the one in my shed thats off a Hornet Microlight, I was told they are a consumable part as the edges get some damage thats how I got mine
Mine has the tape but still damaged?i had a clear plastic tape on the leading edge of my microlite that stops damage from picking up stone chips
