I really need to do something similar.
Mine works on a sort of sash and clamp affair but the amount of weight I usually have on it makes clamping while holding the free weight hmmm difficult, I'm not that weedy but it wasn't that easy with just the cast table on it's own.

It is dead useful, I've got the 18" version and it was a bit under £100 but I'm struggling to find it but if you search a bit more your bound to find one, this is the 23" version which was too big for my needs. Add another 30kg to the table
