Profiled sheet steel

Hi

I fancy making one of those wee sheep trailers . They are 5 x 3 roughly. They all seem to have / use profiled sheeting for the side. I know partly will be for strength. I have been looking for something like it but I can only find profile tin sheets for a roof.

So I presume they just press it themselves. ? So does anyone know if there is any to be had?

Could you make it as a series of bends with a bend or press brake?

Profiled aluminium planking is available from aalco, page A8 on this page, have a look through the complete catalogue though, there's enough sections there to build the complete trailer body

Hi thanks I will give them a phone.

I don't really have facility's to make it or not sure how much would cost

And I was going weld all together and just galvanise it but sure could get bolted together after that. I know could buy one new almost as cheap as making it but just fancy it.

Don't think that stuff in steel is available unless make unless I am mistaken .

I rang my local clading place last week to price up a new 'body' for one of my trailers that I had made 22 yrs ago from an old filling cabinet, with roller shutter door, I made a frame around the bottom and corners with angle, the door then became the lid of the trailer, it is 2.2mtrs long by 1metre with 450mm sides I was going to have a lip bent at the 'gunnel' for strength,
to have this folded as one piece in 1.5mm galv to drop in my frame was £50 inc the sheet, so no contest, no welding no rust just bolt it in.
the filing cabinet was less than 1mm sheet and lasted 20odd yrs so galv will see me out.
