I ordered two off 2121 mm Bi metal 1/2 " ten TPI band saw blades yesterday morning for £64 in total .. They came with postie this afternoon .... great service
However I didn't think to check them physically before using them .
On putting the first blade out the top of the packing box on the band saw , then setting it up by hand , tensioned it , then ran it off load for 20 seconds to bed it in & to check it runs true .....it's great .
Put the rest of the machine back together , set the guards & started to cut a 1" thick slab of Delrin " Dong ..Dong ..., .Doing " . Wow it was like a bad big end on a very slow running engine banging once every second or so.
On hitting the dead stop I started to check the teeth to find the joint .... Arrragh ! The joint has been fused at 1 & a bit teeth so that the bit tooth is out of sych with the rest of the other teeth .
Bloody good job it was thick Delrin I tested it on & not 2 mm thick stainless steel .
I have two teeth in the same setting with the half tooth at the joint in between , I'm sending them back on Monday as I think the fusing should be to follow the sequence .
Whats even worse is the second blade
is also exactly the same ........... Waaahhhhhh!
