Problems with welder

Sip ideal 500 industrial mig with separate wire feed.
Can weld on power setting 1 and 2 but when I turn it up higher for welding say 12mm plate it goes silent doesn't seem to have any power no sound of frying bacon..
I thinking supply is 32a 3 phase needs bigger supply or wire to small possible only 0.8 or 1.0mm

Is there a mutli stage rotary power switch on the machine?

If so, would be worth Powering down machine and carefully testing it in the setting that doesn't work.
