Problem with exporting a single parcel ???

My nephew, was done over, by PayPal as he couldn't produce tax justification.

They froze it all.

Cost a huge quantity of time to justify it.

To answer @W.olly 's concerns.
If a customer opens a PayPal dispute, PayPal will immediately put the funds for that transaction on hold. They're only covering themselves from costs, as if a dodgy seller disappears, PayPal are then liable for any refunds.
Provided the dispute gets settled in your favour, then the money will be returned to you.

I'll admit I'm not entirely sure how PayPal are likely to rule though.
You have proof the item was delivered to the correct address, but if the recipient claims they never received it, it's a bit of catch 22 situation.

Does DHL Germany not take photos of deliveries?

AgIn I am no expert but logic says if DHL claim its been delivered it should be them who pay out.

Don't get me started on PayPal, thieving sods, who think I'm a terrorist or some such.

I started typing a response to this, then couldn't be bothered.

But then you mentioned me.

I slung @BelgiqueB €10 euros in cash, in the post, I hope he gets it.

Bank transfers, for me, but you need a lot of details...

Nephew lived in Germany at the time ( He's now running a business in Spain ) , he said whatever you do don't send cash in an envelope if it is not in a foil encasement to make a Faraday's cage effect as those scanning will see the ID strips & nick it , he also said that with the latest scanners it's even easier to find money in envelopes .especially if a tinfoil packet is shown up .
Best to use bank transfers as at present it's free and secure.


One thing I discovered ( hope it's not me being dyslexic ) is that filling out UK carriage forms does not satisfy the German customs people , as a few times what I've typed in does not show up on the printed out paid for carriage label . Things like email addresses and phone numbers Next time I'm sending I'm going to enlarge the carriage form a big as I can so I can easily check that all numbers , email addresses & other tick boxes are correct . It matters not a jot that the carrier application form may have all the info , they don't have access to them in most cases


Which brings me to phone numbers you need the local phone number for the customer in Germany .. not the international one , for when you put the full international code in the box there are too many digits so it loses the last one or two . I didn't notice this but my customer did when I sent him a photo of the the labeled package .

You also have to box tick business or gift on Customs form Form CN22 ( If business you'll need a full itemised legible declaration that includes codes etc etc. & make sure it shows on the label before handing it over to the carrier in the UK.
I suspect that this will apply to most other EU states & places like Spain will have additional demands if it is going to GIB .

It certainly a lottery sending to certain European destinations now and in particular France/Germany have got the arsss and seem to be making it as hard as possible, Germany also have the verpakG thing which I think has been in existence since 2019 but they are now enforcing it? I think as long as you provide a customs declaration with the product code and good description you should be ok sending

I must admit I have been lucky sending to AUS, Brazil, and US, & others with no problems

But they're not EU which appears to be the stumbling block - the kicking over Brex.. will go on for some time I suspect.

It’s affected us. It came into force in 2019 but there was some sort of transition period till July 2022.

I have just got off the phone to DL, they will be calling the Germany depot today and seeing if they can give more proof of delivery and help on this and ensure it was delivered to the correct place..

So ill sit and wait now.

And to pee on my chips more i have just been given a refund for the missing GRP canopy, in the post above. Paypal have taken that now and that needs to go back to the buyer of that.

I am jacking in with pal pay now, just do BT payments instead..

I called Paypal, and surprisingly the woman on the end was not sat in her garden this time or kids playing in the background.

SHE AGREED WITH ME

she said she will send the dispute higher in my case and i will be contacted in next few days with a hopeful resolution.

Not holing my breath though
