Going over in the morning for about a couple of hours will see what happens im a bit fed up with helping out all the time one sided I'm not a know it all by any stretch but most stuff that I would need I can do fix sort phones fix pcs diy etc the faver type jobs I can sort add to that I don't like asking some one I got a few people like a plaster bud of mine done meny a jobs but now I can do plastering on the smaller scale I don't call him he still phones when he needs help but again I now don't ask as I do it my self

Most mates get told to buy me a drink sometimes, if they insist on payment I tell them to pay what they think it’s worth. Some mates I give them daft quotes because left to their own devices I’d end up owing THEM money somehow

I fixed the jacking points on a friend's Ford way back. MOT prob. Welded in some industrial bit of metal that would outlast the car by years. When he asked me 'How much' I said buy me a pint at the local. While we were drinking, he gave me a horse racing tip, as he was in the game at Newmarket. Little known horse, put a fiver on an accumulator for the five big races. Not much money, but the odds were very long at the time. So I forgot about it, until I noticed that Nijinsky was doing rather well. That £5 might have bought me very early retirement. Heh Ho....

update was there a few hours coffee on tap quite enjoyed it there was a bit of luging around some large logs where there was items brakeable near but was nice to be out side only me my self and i

come the end only took a enought for a very cheapy meal for 2 and a few beers they did offer more but i enjoyed it so said thanks but that will do

Over in the USA, a back to the earth magazine suggested charging the same per hour as the client earned. That idea fell down if you were chopping wood for the CEO of Ford, or some other big Co. ( I think the principal was put up for people in similar circumstances, but the world is not like that. I did quite a lot of work for the chairman of a major chain of electronics and white goods in the UK. We used to chat quite a bit, but I never had the nerve to ask him his hourly rate)
