Pricing help please.

Not sure this is an ethical question or not, if it goes against the grain please remove this post.
To cut a long story short, in a years time I'm coming up for retirement but hoping to make a few quid to help out an otherwise not so good pension. The firm I now work for require some brackets making, at the moment we tend to do these brackets on site as they are quite simple although something we could do without., but to make the job tidier I've suggested making these brackets myself at home and supplying them.
The easiest bracket is a 175mm length of 40x40x3 angle iron with two 7mm holes drilled in one side and one 8mm hole drilled in the other, the 8mm hole will need an 8x30 set screw welding in place, all edges and corners to be fettled and spray painted (XG-90 aerosol) black.
Finish isn't a big issue as these will be buried in the bowels of loading shovels.
I was thinking of charging about a fiver per bracket, Do you think this is a reasonable price.
To be made in batches of approx 30, at the moment one batch per month.
You've got to start somewhere.

How long to make the quantities required per month.
Look at material costs consumables electricity etc.
30 units at £5 is 150 notes.
Less the above your not gonna be making much.

I know what you're saying, hence me asking.
Hopefully if I can get making these simple brackets I might be able to progress on to some slightly more complex which will obviously demand a higher price.
All fantasy at the moment, but pretty sure I could turn a batch out in a morning (less paint drying time ) if I got my arris in gear. The big plus it would be a lot better than poncing around the house wearing a pinny and waving a feather duster about, won't get payed owt for that.

look at it this way work in b and q at 8.50 an hour

can you make more than that in an hour an cover gas electric consumabloes a new welder when needed ?

Pricing from the "top down" approach:

how long does it take to make one on site?
including cutting/sourcing materials?
a man - hour?

how much is the "on site" charge/cost?
Last place I worked contracted out at £75 per hour.

once you know how much the company is paying now, you know how much you can charge per bracket?
£15?

It's a tricky one is this and it makes it awkward working for the company concerned.
Yesterday I was working at a large importers along with a few other contractors from various companies, talking to a few of them in one of the informal breaks that seem to occur regularly I raised this subject and price estimates varied from £8.50 to £16.00, quite a gap but all above my fiver so it looks very much like I'm well low.
Now the problem, the jobs we do are all set price, the kit sold includes fitting, we are on salary, so how long the job takes could be considered irrelevant by those in offices as long as it's done in a day.
To make up a bracket on site as long as we can access the steel can take about 30 minutes, labour cost to them minimal, but in reality it just means we're 30 minutes later getting home.
The plus side to them is that they will have a purpose built bracket that will look much more professional (hopefully ) and a bracket that can be supplied off the shelf plus we do have a few bodgers on the payroll who's idea of neat and tidy is somewhat lacking.
I need to talk to them again and see what we can sort out, thanks for the help.
