Pricing a second hand Vogel brand 2.5m metal straight edge

I've got one, have had it for years but can't remember the last time I used it. I'll be downsizing in the near future so this might as well go for delivery on the next trip south as there's no way it can be posted.
It's in good condition, 2500mm long, 80mm wide and 15mm thick from memory, and is an I section. There's a few small rust spots and small amount of scuffing at both ends on one side. Being secondhand there's no calibration certificate.

I've absolutely no idea how to price this, the only one I can find on ebay is new but shorter and is £5K.

Unless it’s been calibrated / assessed with proof of result it’s nothing more than an expensive pry bar (a joke obviously)
Value is hard to place because those in the trade aren’t going to buy an un-calibrated straight edge unless it’s cheap so calibration and any subsequent remedial work can be completed to bring it back in to standard. Not saying it’ll need any, just that’s what’s going to have to happen.
I fear it’ll only be of interest to hobbyists and the likes but you can always put a price on it and see if there’s any takers? That or send it for assessment…

Dutch auction. Start high and drop steadily until it sells.

I reckon £2.5 k is as good a place to start as any. £1.2k probably more realistic.

its worth what a punter wants to pay for it. if a few folk realy need one it might fetch reasonable money bidding against each other.i wouldnt insult you on the price im thinking off good luck with the sale

question is how much do you want for it? To me it’s worth couple hundred if that, to someone who wants one maybe more, someone who needs one it’s probably worthless as without certs etc.
