making a roller for the back of the ride on lawn-mower, want to use a metal tube for the roller itself, id be thinking 12" diameter for the pipe, but i was wondering would i have to buy a length of pipe seen as i only need a yard, like i doubt they will want to cut a yard of a 20footer? reason not filling a concrete pipe with cement, is i want to put a cap on either end so i could fill it with water and make it my own weight. what kinda money wud a pipe like that be?? thanks lads

I would find a scrap yard, as a stock holder won't cut a pipe down, well they will but it will cost you the full length.

Or as rtbcomp says use a bottle

its a shame your in ireland. i have just cut up some 14 inch and 10 inch pipe. 10mm wall. do you ever come over here

Probably wont get a pipe that size in anything thinner than 8 or 10mm, a length of that, who knows, £6-700+? So a metre will probably set you back £100!

What thickness are you after? Probably get a bit rolled up, that will be the way forward.

mm no was nevr in the uk before :P cud courier it lol a sure ill root about i know were there is a pipe to do but the dirty thing is cast and cast is a near impossiblity to weld, the granfather told me and i think hes right, cause he was an ironworker on the skyscrapers in chicago back in the 60s, and he knows all about steel and welding, but he said welding cast is the same as if a man was trying to weld glass,

Pipeline will sell cuts on 12" tube to account holders. I have bought several 6", 8" & 10" 1metre lengths with victaulic ends for chillers connections. W/A

I'm also looking for some pipe but with a 7 in.max outside diameter to make a roller but I need 8 foot of it I could probably get my hand on a gas bottle if you're stuck
